Drypoint and etching
Frontispiece
Miranda takes its place within Miró's surrealist universe. The work creates a dialogue between the Catalan artist's visual poetry and André Pieyre de Mandiargues' symbolic imagination. Miró favors a plastic style derived from automatism, in which shapes and lines emerge as manifestations of the unconscious. The colors, scattered like constellations, radiate across the surface, while the incisive drypoint lines reveal a graphic work that is both fragile and tense, exuding a singular poetic intensity.
