From the “Poésie de Mots, Poésie de Couleurs” series at Galerie Denise René.
In “Poésie de mots, Poésie de couleurs”, Sonia Delaunay joins forces with poets such as Blaise Cendrars and Tristan Tzara, major figures of the literary avant-garde. These collaborations between poetry and visual art are perfect embodiments of the simultaneist movement she founded with her husband.
The works in this series are the result of a collaboration in which poetic words dialogue with abstract color compositions. Rather than simply illustrating the poems, the colors and geometric shapes harmonize with the verses, weaving a deep bond between words and painting.
