This lithograph is part of a series of similar lithographs that Joan Miró made in 1975 and that was published by the Parisian studio Mourlot. This work reveals a real delicacy on the part of Miró. Here the artist is more restrained in his usual symbolic repertoire. Hollow black lines and blocks of bold color trace slender, conical shapes. The fineness of the pencil grain is noteworthy. In all simplicity, Miro composes an architecture with multiple curves. This composition is enthroned in the center of the board, delimiting the void around it.
Between the abstract and the figurative, we can guess an animal silhouette, which the artist is careful not to identify clearly. This freedom of interpretation leads us to distinguish a donkey, one of Miró's favorite animals. With its head bent over, it appears sometimes sad, sometimes dreamy.
