Do you own a 20th-century print, painting, sculpture or ceramic and would like to know its value, have it authenticated or sell it? Since 2007, Le Coin des Arts has been valuing, buying and exhibiting modern art in Paris, in its two galleries in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Marais.
Our valuations are free and without obligation, and we reply within 48 hours.
Valuations are carried out by Thaddée Poliakoff, a specialist in modern and contemporary prints, a member of the Compagnie Nationale des Experts (the French national association of art experts), the CSEDT and the SLAM, and head of the Serge Poliakoff Archives.
Simply email info@lecoindesarts.com, or send a WhatsApp message to +33 6 95 16 31 52, with one or more high-resolution photographs (JPEG format), together with any information you have:
the artist’s name and, if known, the title of the work;
the technique (painting, drawing, lithograph, etching, screenprint, sculpture, ceramic…) and the dimensions;
its provenance (bought from a gallery, at auction, inherited…) and any accompanying documents (invoice, certificate);
its condition.
For a more accurate valuation, please add close-up photographs to the overall view: the signature, the numbering or edition details for a print, and the back of the work or frame, which often bears useful labels, stamps or inscriptions.
An appointment can also be arranged at either of our galleries so that the work can be examined in person.
Your work is assessed by our expert in terms of its authenticity, its condition and its current position on the market. You will receive our reply within 48 hours, free of charge and with no obligation on your part.
A valuation can also form part of a full inventory of your collection. It allows you to know and update the value of your works, particularly for probate, a gift or the division of an estate between heirs.
It is also essential for insurance: an up-to-date valuation ensures that, in the event of a claim, compensation is based on the replacement value of your works.
Once the work has been assessed, two options may be offered:
outright purchase of the work by the gallery;
sale on consignment: the work is shown in our galleries, on our website and to our collectors in France and abroad.
Every work we sell comes with a certificate of authenticity, which is why we take the greatest care in examining each piece we buy or take on consignment.
Shipping costs are borne by the seller. We will, however, help you arrange the shipment – including from the United Kingdom or elsewhere outside the European Union – or the delivery of your work to one of our galleries:
Saint-Germain-des-Prés – 6, rue de l’Échaudé, 75006 Paris – +33 1 44 41 12 52;
Le Marais – 53, rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris – +33 9 52 29 01 82.
To pack your work safely, you can follow the illustrated steps on our delivery page.
