Authenticity and Certificates of Authenticity of Artworks

A guarantee of authenticity for every artwork sold

Every artwork sold through our website or acquired in person at one of our two Parisian galleries, Le Coin des Arts, is guaranteed authentic and accompanied by its certificate of authenticity.

This document is an essential element of traceability and security for collectors, certifying the origin, authorship and exact nature of the artwork.

Issuance and delivery of the certificate of authenticity

The certificate of authenticity is provided at the time of purchase or, where applicable, sent subsequently by post.
In the case of an online purchase or a request for shipment, the certificate is enclosed directly within the parcel containing the artwork, in a separate protective cardboard envelope, to ensure its optimal preservation.

Posters and unsigned prints

For posters and unsigned prints, no certificate of authenticity is issued by default.
A certificate may however be issued upon the client’s express request.

Issuance of certificates and expertise

Certificates of authenticity are issued by Galerie Le Coin des Arts and signed by Thaddée Poliakoff, a member of the CSEDT (Chambre Syndicale de l’Estampe, du Dessin et du Tableau), the SLAM (Syndicat national de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne), and the CNE (Compagnie Nationale des Experts).

Thaddée Poliakoff is an expert in modern and contemporary prints.
He is also a recognised expert on the work of Serge Poliakoff, of whom he is the grandson, and head of the Serge Poliakoff Archives.

A unique, original and named certificate

We never provide copies of certificates, whether as photocopies sent by post or as PDF files by email.
Only one original certificate is issued for each artwork and is delivered exclusively to its purchaser.

This strict policy ensures the uniqueness of the document and prevents any fraudulent use.

Unique artworks and certificates issued by committees or estates

In the case of a unique artwork (drawing, gouache or painting), we work, when required, with the appropriate expert, committee or estate in order to provide the collector with a certificate issued directly by the entity responsible for the artist’s catalogue raisonné.
