A dazzling and joyful work, this composition bears witness to Jean Tinguely's creative freedom and inexhaustible energy. It is part of a series of experiments that made the Swiss artist so unique: a frenetic quest for movement, fuelled by an intuition that was as playful as it was radical.
Here, Tinguely composes a veritable visual choreography. The elements respond to each other, collide or balance each other, creating an ensemble where dynamism takes precedence over fixed form. Intense colours, contrasting rhythms and unexpected assemblages give the work an immediate, almost contagious vitality.
