In Hélice rouge , Sonia Delaunay captures the essence of flight by transposing the mechanics of aviation into a vibrant, abstract language. The two bright scarlet propellers at the center of the composition symbolize the power and speed of airplane engines, while the carefully arranged colored rectangles recall the flashes of sky and fragments of landscape seen from the air. The artwork conveys both the thrill of technical progress and the poetry of flight.
