In Greek mythology, the Styx is one of the four rivers of Hades, crossed by the souls of the dead in Charon's boat. This etching depicts this dark world, but Miró's interpretation softens the violence of the myth with his childlike figures. With his playful shapes and intense colors, the artist transforms the depiction of the passage of souls into a gentler, more poetic vision, offering an original reflection on the theme of death and the afterlife.
