Étienne Hajdu, a Romanian sculptor trained in Paris under Bourdelle and Niclausse, developed a body of work deeply marked by modernity. The influences of Brancusi, Arp and Léger combine with an interest in archaic civilisations. This engraving illustrates an abstraction based on organic forms and essential lines, which the artist groups together under the name ‘estampilles’ (stamps).
