At Le Coin des Arts, every work is custom-packed by our team, insured for its full value and sent by express with DHL Express, in France and worldwide. Delivery is free on all orders of €1,200 or more, anywhere in the world – including the UK.
Your work is prepared and packed within 1 to 2 working days of your order. Once DHL Express has collected the parcel, delivery takes 1 to 3 working days depending on the destination.
We always choose express rather than economy shipping, with delivery against signature. As soon as your parcel is dispatched, you receive a tracking number by email so you can follow it right up to delivery.
For shipments outside the European Union – including the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the United States – customs clearance may add a little time.
Yes. You can collect your work free of charge from either of our two Paris galleries during opening hours:
Saint-Germain-des-Prés – 6, rue de l’Échaudé, 75006 Paris (Monday to Saturday, 11am–1pm and 2pm–7pm);
Le Marais – 53, rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris (Tuesday to Saturday, 11am–1pm and 2pm–7pm).
Just let us know which gallery you prefer when you place your order.
Delivery is free on all orders of €1,200 or more, whatever the destination.
Below this amount, a contribution to shipping costs applies:
up to €250: €25;
€251 to €1,199: €45.
These costs include custom packing and insurance, taken out automatically, which covers the value of the work (the amount shown on the invoice) against theft and damage throughout transit. Responsibility passes to you when you receive the work.
For deliveries outside the European Union, import duties and taxes may apply. They are set by the authorities of the destination country, are payable by the buyer and are settled directly with DHL Express, who will guide you through customs clearance.
Shipping to the UK: since Brexit, parcels from France go through UK customs. Works of art benefit from a reduced rate of import VAT (currently 5%), which DHL Express collects before delivery.
We cannot handle customs clearance ourselves, but we remain on hand after dispatch and will liaise with DHL Express if needed.
Every work is packed by our team according to its technique, size and fragility.
Large-format lithographs and screenprints that can safely be rolled are shipped rolled in a rigid tube. More fragile works are shipped flat: etchings and engravings whose plate mark (the impression left by the plate) must be preserved, pochoirs, pastels, antique papers and small formats.
Here are the steps of flat packing at our gallery, in pictures:

1. Preparation
Cotton gloves, tissue paper and rigid board cut to size.

2. Protection
The work is slipped into tissue paper.

3. Securing
Corner protectors: the tape never touches the work.

4. Closing
A second board closes the package.

5. Bubble wrap
It absorbs shocks, especially at the corners.

6. Kraft paper
A strong, discreet outer layer.

7. Security tape
It leaves a visible mark if the parcel is opened.
And for shipping in a tube:

1. Rolling
The work is rolled loosely between sheets of tissue paper.

2. Rigid tube
The roll is slid into a thick cardboard tube cut to length.

3. Packing
Tissue paper fills the ends, then the tube is closed with its end caps.

4. Security tape
It seals the tube and leaves a visible mark if opened.
Entrusting us with a work to sell? You can follow these same steps to ship it to us. Find out more on our valuation and selling page.
As glass is fragile, we prefer to ship frames fitted with Perspex (acrylic glazing) (see our framing page), which carries no risk of breakage for the work or the frame.
When a frame is glazed with glass, we apply protective tape to it, which holds the pieces in place if it breaks and prevents the glass from damaging the work. The frame is then packed in a reinforced parcel.
For maximum protection, you can also ask for your framed work to be shipped in a wooden crate, still with DHL Express. As the crate and shipping are quoted separately, please contact us before ordering.
Ceramics are shipped in reinforced packaging, padded on all sides to prevent any impact. For sculpture, depending on its weight and fragility, we can arrange shipping in a crate, on quotation.
On delivery, check the condition of the parcel before signing for it.
If the parcel looks damaged, note specific reservations with the courier (for example “crushed box” or “dented corner”) and take photos of the parcel.
Let us know within 48 hours at info@lecoindesarts.com, attaching your photos.
This deadline matters: we must ourselves notify our insurer within 48 hours for the transit insurance to apply.
For any purchase made at a distance, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date you receive the work. Return conditions are set out in our terms and conditions of sale.
For any specific request regarding delivery, packing or customs formalities, please do not hesitate to contact us.
