In the Nana Power series, Niki de Saint Phalle presents a work of rare cathartic intensity, where artistic momentum is coupled with intimate exploration. The silkscreen print depicts a multi-headed paternal figure with two faces: one completely conventional and visible to society; the other distorted, almost monstrous, revealing a darker, hidden truth.

This iconographic duality reflects the tension between appearance and reality, a recurring theme in the artist's practice. Beneath this ambiguous figure rises a richly decorated church, whose theatricality recalls the elaborate altars created during the Shootings. This architectural motif also suggests Niki de Saint Phalle's Christian upbringing, whose moral and symbolic imprint had a profound impact on her youth.

The silkscreen print draws on personal memory and criticism of authority structures in a composition where the expressive power of the line and the richness of colour serve a narrative that is both intimate and universal.
